conscious parenting workshop

Discover how be more mindful and conscious in your parenting. Run by Lucy Lucas and Caroline Hanson.
**A weekend version of this workshop will be run in the spring!**

We will open with a workshop which will explore the basics of conscious parenting. We will cover:-
- the challenge of making informed, deliberate, intentional and loving responses to our child(ren) in the heat of the moment,
- the critical need to take time for ourselves to ensure that we are well cared for, nourished and nurtured to best tend for our offspring;
- how we can reject instinctive patterns so that we can be the parent we want to be.

Lucy Lucas will run an integrated flow yoga class suitable for all levels which will explore the concepts of embodiment, mindfulness and getting in touch with what arises in us.

During the afternoon, Lucy and Caroline will lead a discussion on the topics we have explored and we will conclude with a relaxing Yoga Nidra.

finding balance: yoga day retreat sunday 8th december 2019

Everything in our bodies and the natural world is set up to find balance, but for many of us balance seems hard to achieve. In this Day Retreat, we will be using the ancient Indian philosophical concept of Gunas and how this relates to our bodies, our nervous systems, our personalities and how we live our lives. We'll be exploring what balance means and how we can use techniques and approaches both old and new to find balance.

This will be a whole day retreat at Swallows Oast near Ticehurst comprising yoga, movement, breathwork and meditation. Included is a delicious vegetarian lunch, tea, coffee and cake.

Weekend retreat at brooklands barn, 4-6 september 2020

A weekend, residential retreat at the stunning Brooklands Barn in Arundel, West Sussex 4-6 September 2020.

I've chosen as our theme the interrelated concepts of boundaries and compassion, especially self compassion, having been inspired by researcher Brene Brown. She said that when researching people who are truly compassionate, they all had one thing in common: they all had boundaries of steel!

So we will be using physical yoga, both dynamic and yin, mindfulness, breathwork and meditation to really explore these ideas in the body, mind and in everyday life.

Brooklands Barn is 1 mile from Arundel, set in the countryside, with lovely rooms, lots of chill out areas, communal dining, a sauna and indoor pool. I will also be arranging optional massage and other treatments (for additional cost). Arundel is roughly 90 minutes drive away from Tunbridge Wells.
